Clinical Education Bytesize
About

CPD that respects how little time clinicians have.

Clinical Education Bytesize exists to make ADHD prescribing education practical, honest about uncertainty, and short enough to use.

Why it exists

The gap between the guideline and the clinic

Demand for adult ADHD assessment and treatment in the UK has grown far faster than training for the clinicians doing the work. Many prescribers pick up ADHD care through shared care or a change of role, with little structured preparation for the judgement calls involved.

NICE NG87 and the BNF tell you what to do. They say less about what to do when a patient doesn't fit the pattern, when the evidence is contested, or when public debate runs ahead of the data. That is where these courses focus.

Principles

How the courses are made

01

Grounded in UK guidance. Content is written against NICE NG87 and the BNF, with clinical claims checked before recording.

02

Honest about evidence. Where figures come from evolving research or press coverage rather than primary papers, the course says so.

03

Built from practice. Frameworks are illustrated with worked clinical cases drawn from real-world prescribing.

04

Short by design. Modules are audio, roughly 4 to 10 minutes each, so learning fits around clinics.

The author

Clinical background

A UK-based Non-Medical Prescriber (V300) with close to 25 years' NHS experience across inpatient, forensic (secure and prison), community and crisis services, with a specialist focus on ADHD and neurodevelopmental prescribing.

That experience spans hospital wards, secure and prison healthcare, community teams and crisis services. These settings shape how ADHD presents and how prescribing decisions have to be made.
